
Alleged Vernon purse snatcher caught on camera
VERNON – Police have released a photo of a woman who allegedly stole a purse from an elderly woman in Vernon last week.
Around 5 p.m. on Jan. 5, an elderly woman was shopping at the downtown Vernon Safeway when someone took her purse, Const. Jocelyn Noseworthy says in a media release.
The suspect, who was caught on video surveillance, was wearing a large, beige jacket and had long brown hair.
According to Noseworthy, she was seen taking the purse.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Vernon/North Okanagan RCMP at 250-545-7171 or remain anonymous by contacting Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
