Ex-boyfriend busted for breaking and entering

Kelowna – A 34-year-old Kelowna man was arrested Tuesday after his ex-girlfriend found him in her home going through her personal belongings.

RCMP were called to a house on Gerstmar Road in the early afternoon with reports of a break and enter. According to Const. Kelly Brett, the homeowner had just returned home to find the man and an unknown female in her house.

Brett says the homeowner called police when the man refused to leave and began destroying her property.

When police arrived the suspect fled out the back door and hopped a fence only to find police waiting on the other side.

He was taken into custody and it was confirmed he is forbidden from having contact with the homeowner.

He faces potential charges of break and enter and breach of recognizance.
