Stolen Similkameen saddle recovered
PENTICTON – The Similkameen owner of some stolen equestrian tack is back in the saddle again.
Penticton RCMP Cpl. Don Wrigglesworth says a commemorative saddle stolen in a Chopaka Road break-in south of Cawston in late December was recovered by West Kelowna RCMP earlier this month.
On Jan. 1, a West Kelowna RCMP officer stopped a Mazda for operating without a license plate. The driver was arrested after it was discovered he had charges under the motor vehicle act and also lacked insurance.
Wrigglesworth says the vehicle was impounded, but after a media release was circulated regarding the stolen saddle, the officer realized he had seen it in the Mazda.
The saddle has been retrieved from the vehicle and is in the process of being returned to its owner.
