Kelowna killer arrested after police find him in house with handgun, drugs

KELOWNA – A convicted killer has been arrested once again after police executed a search warrant at a home in Kelowna last week.

Daniel Mader served more than eight years in jail for helping to kill a drug dealer in 2005, and was arrested again when he used a stolen truck to ram a police car just one year after being released from prison.

Now Mader and two women face numerous drug and weapons charges after police found a 9mm handgun inside a home on Hein Road.

Mader has been charged with failure to comply with a probation order, along with countless firearms offences, Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey says in a media release.

Shannah Mccray, 30, has been charged with firearms related offences but released.

Rebecka Hill, 25, has been charged with breach of recognizance and possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking. She was also released.
