Canucks claim forward Sestito off waivers from Flyers, send Ebbett to AHL
VANCOUVER – The Vancouver Canucks have claimed left-winger Tom Sestito off of waivers from the Philadelphia Flyers.
Sestito, 25, appeared in seven games with the Flyers this season, collecting two goals — including one game-winner — and 12 penalty minutes.
He also played one game with the Adirondack Phantoms of the American Hockey League. The Rome, N.Y., native has seven career points (four goals, three assists) in 34 NHL games with the Flyers and Columbus Blue Jackets.
The six-foot-five, 228-pound forward was originally selected in the third round (85th overall) of the 2006 NHL Entry Draft.
To make room for Sestito, the Canucks re-assigned forward Andrew Ebbett to the AHL’s Chicago Wolves.
The 30-year-old forward rejoins Chicago after being recalled by Vancouver on Thursday. He has appeared in five games with the Canucks this season.
