Super Save held up at knife-point

Police are looking to the public for information after a suspect held-up the Super Save gas station on 27th Street Thursday night and got away.

Vernon RCMP got the call around 8:43 p.m. last night that a suspect had robbed the store and fled the scene.

"The employee working the evening shift noticed that someone was waiting outside the store," RCMP spokesperson Gord Molendyk said. "When the only other customer left the store the lone male entered."

He is described as about 26-years-old, 6' tall, Caucasian and of a skinny build. He was wearing sun-glasses, a glove on his left hand, and a red and white ball cap with a black brim. He wore a light-coloured hoody underneath a black jacket. He appears to have facial stubble and possibly sideburns.

"The suspect produced a knife (and) demanded cash from the till," Molendyk said, adding he appeared calm throughout the hold-up.

The clerk provided the suspect with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The suspect was seen leaving northbound and then went westbound behind the store.

The dog team arrived but was not able to get a track.

The police are asking anyone with any information on this robbery to please contact the Vernon RCMP at 250-545-7171 or call Crime Stoppers.
