The 2nd Annual Okanagan Beard Festival kicks off with the registration and first-round judging event on Monday, January 16th from 6pm until 9pm, at Cannery Brewing Co. (198 Ellis Street, Penticton, BC).

This fun and friendly, 13-week competition & celebration of the bearded lifestyle will include judging in 12 categories:

– Best beard    –   Best styled mustache
– Longest beard    –   Most original mustache
– Thickest beard    –   Longest mustache
– Most original beard   –   Best mustache/goatee combination
– Best sculptured beard   –   Best beard/mustache combination
– Best effort    –   People’s choice

In addition to these 12 categories, a new element is being added to this year’s festival – the “Battle of the Barbers”. Competitors will be representing their respective barbers during the entire competition – the barber with the most award-winning clients will earn bragging rights as top barber.

There will be 6 rounds of judging, to take place at various breweries and pubs and restaurants in Penticton, including Cannery Brewing Co., Craft Corner Kitchen, Nest & Nectar, Clancy’s Pub, and The Barking Parrot Bar. The winners will be announced and awards presented at our finale event on April 24th.

Registration fee is $25.00 (Limited to 100 registrants).

Partial proceeds from this event will be donated to Penticton’s Discovery House.
