Highlights of the Kelowna council meeting

Imagine Kelowna outcomes & phase 2

Council received an update on the emerging themes from the first phase (Share) of the Imagine Kelowna community engagement, and endorsed the community engagement strategy for Phase 2: Shape (including targeted and structured engagement occurring from January to April 2017). The top three themes supporting important building blocks for the future of the Kelowna included a healthy density, affordability and housing, and a continued sense of community. Community Wildfire Protection Plan grant

Council approved an application to the UBCM Wildfire Prevention Initiative for $4,700 to cover additional costs for updating Kelowna’s Community Wildfire Protection Plan. The plan provides detailed recommendations to assist staff in taking measures to minimizing the wildfire risk to our community.
