
QB Fajardo, DB Richardson and RB Stanback named CFL’s weekly top-three performers
TORONTO – Quarterback Cody Fajardo, defensive back Shaquille Richardson and running back William Stanback were named the CFL’s weekly top performers Tuesday.
Fajardo earned top-performer honours after completing 24-of-31 passes for 279 yards with a touchdown and an interception in the Saskatchewan Roughriders’ 31-24 road win over the B.C. Lions.
Fajardo capped a six-play, 56-yard drive with a one-hard TD run that tied the score with two seconds before kicker Brett Lauther booted the winning convert.
Richardson had four tackles, a special-teams tackle, forced fumble and an interception in the Toronto Argonauts’ 30-27 home victory over the Montreal Alouettes. Richardson’s seventh career interception led to the winning field goal for the Argos.
Stanback was named the third top performer after rushing for 133 yards and a TD in 19 carries against Toronto. He finished with 154 all-purpose yards and leads the CFL in rushing with 618 yards (6.4-yard average) and two touchdowns.
