RCMP seize drugs, make arrests during raid at Kelowna home

KELOWNA – A man and two women were arrested Friday night in Kelowna after RCMP seized a large amount of drugs during a search of a home.

Police say members of the Kelowna RCMP Downtown Enforcement Unit, general duty officers and RCMP Police Dog Services all took part in the search of the home in the 1500 block of Elm Street Friday evening, Jan. 20.

Over 300 various illicit pills, 280 grams of marijuana, 100 grams of suspected cocaine, 1.15 grams of suspected heroin and almost half a gram of suspected methamphetamine were seized, according to a RCMP media release.

“During their search, investigators also seized a replica firearm, a can of bear spray, packaging materials consistent with drug trafficking and cash,” Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey says in the release.

A 59-year-old Kelowna man was held in custody over the weekend and faces several potential charges. He was in breach of a current probation order. The two women were released without any charges.
