VERNON – Marie Morris has been honoured with JCI Vernon's Good Citizen of the year award.
Morris was joined by family and friends at the People Place yesterday afternoon, Jan. 26, where she was presented with the award.
She was nominated by her daughter Susan Morris, who said her mother has always given back to the community without a second thought.
Through out the years Marie has worn many hats in this community. At 78 years old she is still going strong, giving a helping hand to so many.
She has been involved in many community organizations over the year including:
Presently Marie is on the board of directors for Special Olympics. She holds the position of Athlete Registration/Medical records for all sports. She drives and chaperones athletes to out of town tournaments. She does Camper registration and drives campers to Camp McKenzie.
