
Northern Ontario’s Jacobs beats Ontario’s Howard 9-7 in Brier semifinal
EDMONTON – Northern Ontario’s Brad Jacobs has advanced to the final of the Canadian men’s curling championship.
His Sault Ste. Marie team defeated defending champion Glenn Howard 9-7 in an all-Ontario semifinal.
Northern Ontario stole two points in the fifth end and one in the eighth to take control of the game.
Jacobs faces Manitoba’s Jeff Stoughton in Sunday night’s final.
The winner represents Canada at the men’s world championship in Victoria next month.
