Cavaliers guard Kyrie Irving expected to miss 3-4 weeks with sprained shoulder

INDEPENDENCE, Ohio – Cavaliers All-Star guard Kyrie Irving could miss the next month with a sprained left shoulder.

Irving, who has dealt with injuries during his brief NBA career, sprained his shoulder Sunday night in a loss to Toronto. He collided with Raptors rookie forward Jonas Valanciunas.

The Cavs have 19 games left this season, so it’s possible Irving will not play again.

Irving has already missed 14 games this season with a broken index finger and hyperextended knee.

He had a broken hand last summer and missed 14 games last season, when he was chosen the league’s top rookie.
