Edmonton Oilers sign goalie Brossoit, defenceman Davidson to contract extensions

EDMONTON – The Edmonton Oilers signed goaltender Laurent Brossoit and defenceman Brandon Davidson to two-year contract extensions Monday.

Brossoit, 22, of Surrey, B.C., has appeared in 28 games with the American Hockey League’s Bakersfield Condors. He has compiled a 15-9-3 record, 2.69 goals-against average and .919 save percentage and three shutouts.

Brossoit has played in two career games with the Oilers, registering a 1.45 GAA and .964 save percentage.

The six-foot-three, 200-pound goalie has played 91 career AHL games with a 42-37-7 record, 2.74 GAA and .914 save percentage with seven shutouts.

Davidson, 24, has appeared in 47 games with Edmonton this year, registering four goals and six assists.

The six-foot-two, 210-pound native of Lethbridge, Alta., has accumulated five goals and six assist in 59 career NHL games.
