The TransCanada is closed in both directions from Revelstoke to Golden.

Drive BC says there has been a ‘vehicle incident,’ which is bureaucratic-speak for car crash. It happened in the Rogers Pass at the summit.

There are reports that a helicopter landed on the highway to take patients to hospital and that the coroner has been called to the scene.

Drive BC isn’t providing an estimated time for Highway 1 to reopen, but the website is promising an update before noon.
