KAMLOOPS – A man has been arrested after an early morning shooting on the North Shore in Kamloops.
RCMP say a 31-year-old man has been taken into custody in connection to another man being shot in the neighbourhood this morning. Police secured the area and started their investigation while ambulance crews attended to the victim.
The 1000 block of 12 Street was closed after a lone man was shot in the leg with a small caliber firearm, police say. A back alley off of the 1200 block of Sherbrooke Avenue was still closed at 8 a.m.
"The investigation is still ongoing and the Kamloops RCMP Serious Crime Unit is investigating this incident," Staff Sgt. Edward Preto says in a media release.
Anyone with information to call Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
