SASKATOON – Levko Koper scored in overtime as the Alberta Golden Bears stayed alive at the Canadian Interuniversity Sport men’s hockey championship with a 4-3 win over the Saint Mary’s Huskies on Friday.
Top-ranked Alberta, which suffered a shocking 2-1 loss to Waterloo in the season opener, can still advance to Sunday’s gold-medal game if Saint Mary’s beats the Warriors by a 1-0 or 2-1 score on Saturday.
Torrie Dyck, Jordan Hickmott and Johnny Lazo also scored for the Golden Bears (1-1).
Matt Tipoff, Cory Tanaka, and Michael Stickland replied for the Huskies (0-1).
Host Saskatchewan met UQTR later Friday.
