Rockets blast Cougars 3-2

KELOWNA – The Kelowna Rockets defeated the Prince George Cougars 3-2 on Friday night in the CN Centre in Prince George.

The Rockets started strong as Kole Lind scored a short handed goal in the first half  of the period. Reid Gardiner got the Rockets up 2-0 before the period was out.

The Cougars scored two second period goals to draw even through 40 minutes.

Lind scored his second of the night to return the lead to the Rockets. That goal would prove to be the winner as the Rockets topped the Cougars 3-2.

The Rockets improve to 29-19-4-0 on the year.

Michael Herringer improves to 22-12-3-0 on his 100th career WHL game.

The Rockets and Cougars are back at it tomorrow night.

Kelowna will then take on the Blazers in Kamloops on Wednesday the 8th before returning home to host Vancouver for a home-and-home with the Giants on Friday February 10th and Saturday February 11th.
