Drivers urged to use extreme caution on Coquihalla highway after heavy snowfall

VANCOUVER – Environment Canada is warning drivers to use extreme caution while travelling on the Coquihalla highway.

They say heavy snowfalls and icy conditions are expected throughout the evening.

Environment Canada forecaster, Greg Pierce, says there’s currently about 40-centimetres of snow on the roads.

He’s expecting another 10-centimetres throughout the day, and 10- to 15-centimetres tonight.

Pierce says conditions should improve tomorrow, but for now, drivers should use highway one or other alternate routes.
