Classic car stolen from Osoyoos returned in Oliver

OSOYOOS – A stolen 1939 Willy’s Hot Rod has been recovered after a social media campaign helped raise awareness.

The classic car was stolen on Jan. 27. According to a Facebook post the owner was in Mexico during the ordeal.  

Social media played a large role in the return of the vehicle. The theft was advertised on Facebook and received over 120,000 views, according to an RCMP press release, and the owners thanked friends, car groups and media in an online post.

According to the police release, the vehicle was delivered to an undisclosed location in Oliver. The identity of those involved in the theft is unknown at this time.
