Canadian skip Rachel Homan beats Germany at women’s world curling championship

RIGA, Latvia – Canada’s Rachel Homan is back on the winning track at the world women’s curling championship.

She bounced back from a tough loss to Sweden by defeating Germany’s Andrea Schopp 8-5 in today’s early draw at the Volvo Sports Center.

Homan will take a 5-3 record into her evening game against Switzerland.

Canada started the day in a four-way tie for fourth place behind Scotland, Sweden and Russia.

Round-robin play continues through Thursday night.

The top four teams will advance to the playoffs.
