Baytex Energy Corp. (TSX:BTE). Oil and gas. Up 34 cents, or 7.59 per cent, to $4.82 on 12.8 million shares.
Encana Corp. (TSX:ECA). Oil and gas. Up 23 cents, or 3.29 per cent, to $7.22 on 10.9 million shares.
GeneNews Ltd. (TSX:GEN). Health care. Down 1.5 cents, or 7.14 per cent, to 19.5 cents on 10.5 million shares.
First Quantum Minerals Ltd. (TSX:FM). Miner. Up 14 cents, or 2.29 per cent, to $6.26 on 10.4 million shares.
B2Gold Corp. (TSX:BTO). Miner. Up one cent, or 0.58 per cent, to $1.74 on 9.9 million shares.
Kinross Gold Corp. (TSX:K). Miner. Down three cents, or 0.78 per cent, to $3.80 on 8.6 million shares.

Crescent Point Energy (TSX:CPG). Oil and gas. Down 43 cents, or 2.42 per cent, to $17.35 on 8.2 million shares. A writedown of Crescent Point Energy Corp.’s assets pushed the oil and gas company to a $382.4-million net loss in the fourth quarter of 2015. The loss amounted to 76 cents per common share and included a $589.4 million after-tax asset writedown due to reduced commodity prices.
Axia NetMedia Corp. (TSX:AXX). Communication equipment. Up $1.35, or 47.37 per cent, to $4.20 on 6.9 million shares. Axia NetMedia Corp. has received a friendly takeover offer that values the Alberta-based telecom company at $272 million — almost 50 per cent above its recent market value. The offer is from Partners Group, which will pay $4.25 per share cash for all of Axia’s outstanding stock.
