Vancouver to host World Cup gold-medal game, semifinals in Montreal, Edmonton

VANCOUVER – Vancouver’s B.C. Place Stadium will play host to the gold-medal game of the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

Montreal and Edmonton will host semifinal games of the soccer tournament that runs June 6 to July 5 in six Canadian cities.

The Canadians will open group play in Edmonton.

In total, 52 matches will be played over 30 days with games also scheduled for Winnipeg, Ottawa and Moncton.

The 2015 World Cup will feature 24 countries for the first time in the tournament’s history.
