RIGA, Latvia – Canada’s Rachel Homan is moving on to the semifinal at the world women’s curling championship.

The Ottawa skip defeated Erika Brown of the United States 7-6 in today’s Page playoff 3-4 game at the Volvo Sports Center.

Homan will play Scotland’s Eve Muirhead in the evening semifinal.

The winner of that game will play Sweden’s Margaretha Sigfridsson for the gold medal on Sunday.

The semifinal loser will play Brown for bronze.

This is Homan’s first appearance at the world women’s curling championship.
