Hamilton Tiger-Cats promote Eric Tillman to general manager’s position
HAMILTON – The Hamilton Tiger-Cats promoted Eric Tillman to general manager Friday.
Tillman joined the Ticats as a consultant in 2013 and had served as the club’s director of American scouting and U.S. pro personnel since 2014. He has previous experience as a CFL general manager with the B.C. Lions (1993-95), Toronto Argonauts (1997, 1999), Ottawa Renegades (2002-’03), Saskatchewan Roughriders (2006-09) and Edmonton Eskimos (2010-12).
Tillman, a three-time Grey Cup champion, takes over from Kent Austin, who remains Hamilton’s vice-president of football operations and head coach.
“Eric has a wealth of experience and knowledge with respect to the game of football and the Canadian Football League, and has been a great resource for us the past three seasons,” Austin said in a statement. “He will now be based out of our Hamilton office and we felt the need to better define his role with the club as his involvement increases moving forward.”
The Ticats also added assistant GM duties to Canadian scouting director Drew Allemang and football operations director Shawn Burke.
