REGINA – American Nick (Nyquil) Rhoads submitted Saskatoon’s Kurt (The Hurt) Southern to win the Prestige FC featherweight championship.

Also Saturday night at the George Reed Auditorium at the Orr Centre, Regina’s Charmaine (Not So Sweet) Tweet (8-6-0) won a unanimous decision over American Jessy (The Widowmaker) Miele (5-3-0) to win the women’s 145-title.

Montreal bantamweight Aiemann Zahabi (6-0-0), the younger brother of star coach Firas Zahabi, won by TKO at 2:17 of the first round when Kyle Oliveira (3-2-0) suffered a knee injury trying to avoid a kick.

A new MMA promotion, Prestige FC held its first show in October. It is owned by Saskatchewan businessman Derek Daku with Regina-based Cord Crowthers serving as CEO and matchmaker.
