Kamloops Art Gallery Art Duel

Thursday, February 23, 2017
6:00 to 9:00 pm
All ages, FREE

Join us for our fourth annual blindfolded face-off! Drawing on the theme of transformation, contestants will be assigned two random subjects (say, a dishwasher and an elephant) and tasked with creating a drawing of one transforming into the other in 60 seconds or less—while blindfolded. Yes, we know this task is nearly impossible. That’s the point (and what makes these events fun).

Participants will be judged on their costumes, performances and their completed drawing. The winner will be awarded a solo exhibition on our BMO Open Gallery in October 2017.

Not interested in participating? Join the Art Duel Peanut Gallery! Heckle contestants as they fumble through their tasks, cheer for your friends, dance to wacky music and enjoy the free snacks. A cash bar will be open throughout the event.

Art Duel has space for 16 competitors. Register early to ensure your place in the competition. Visit the Gallery or call 250-377-2400.
