California man identified as victim of fatal skiing accident in southeast B.C.
KELOWNA, B.C. – A San Francisco-area man has been identified as the victim of a fatal skiing accident in southeast B.C.
The BC Coroners Service says 68-year-old Stanley Hegg, of Emeryville, Calif., died near the community of Nakusp on Thursday.
The man was taking a guided ski tour on Ferguson Mountain when he fell head-first into a well of snow below a tree.
While Hegg was quickly dug out by guides and other members of the group, he could not be revived.
The coroner and the RCMP continue to investigate his death.
