Penticton RCMP investigate break-ins

PENTICTON – Penticton RCMP are investigating a number of break and enters in the city last week.

Cpl. Don Wrigglesworth says a break and enter was reported Friday morning, Feb. 10, at a Yorkton Avenue residence. The back door had been pried open and two laptops, a coffee machine and two bikes stolen. A number of other items had been moved, but were left behind.

Police are also investigating the theft of a yellow Champion 2000 watt generator taken from a concession trailer parked on Brandon Avenue, Wrigglesworth says. The theft was reported to police on Saturday, Feb. 11.

On Sunday, Feb. 12, police were called to a Quebec Street residence where a vehicle break and enter had occurred. The rear window had been smashed and a Samick traditional recurve bow with carbon fibre arrows, a bow case, GPS, and sunglasses taken. Value of the goods is estimated at more than $2,000.

Wrigglesworth says the owner had cleaned the vehicle prior to police arriving, leaving no evidence for the RCMP’s identification section to investigate.
