Fatal crash on Highway 1 near Salmon Arm

SALMON ARM – A Salmon Arm man is dead after an early morning collision on the Trans Canada Highway in the Shuswap.

RCMP say a pickup truck crossed the centre line around 3 a.m., Feb. 17, colliding with a semi truck near Cedar Drive in the Blind Bay area. The lone occupant of the pickup, a 39-year-old Salmon Arm man, was ejected from his truck and died at the scene.

Police are investigating the cause of the collision.

The crash about 28 kilometres west of Salmon Arm closed the highway for several hours this morning, but it has since reopened.
