In a carefully planned covert operation, West Kelowna and Kelowna RCMP teamed up to crack down on ski-hill drug deals at Big White. Police arrested two people and laid another seven charges last month for illicit drug trafficking at the resort.
Undercover police agents were able to intercept a number of powder cocaine deals on the mountain and also stopped deals of magic mushrooms. All of the men caught were between the ages of 20 and 26, including one man from the United Kingdom and another from Australia.
Police say the deals were happening both on the ski hills and in the surrounding establishments at Big White.
The charges will be presented in court, with assistance from the Canada Border Services Agency to deal with the international suspects.
RCMP thank the management team at Big White for their cooperation in enforcing better security at the resort.
