B.C. Green Party picks candidate to run in Kelowna West

WEST KELOWNA – The B.C. Green Party has announced its candidate for the riding of Kelowna West.

Kelowna businessperson Robert Mellalieu will carry the Green Party banner Kelowna West, formerly Westside-Kelowna, against Premier Christy Clark in the upcoming provincial election. The B.C. NDP haven't announced a candidate in the riding yet.

“I believe my 25 years as resident, parent, volunteer and business owner in Kelowna West makes me the best placed candidate to represent this community," Mellalieu says in a party media release.

Mellalieu has worked in Kelowna since 1990 as the owner and operator of F1 Computer Services.

“Robert is a deeply community-driven person with an expansive record of volunteering," B.C. Green Party leader Andrew Weaver says in the release. "As a small business owner, he knows that entrepreneurs are a crucial pillar of our economy and has the work ethic required to serve as the people of Kelowna West’s representative in Victoria."
