Some of the most active companies traded Tuesday on the Toronto Stock Exchange:

Rubicon Minerals Corp. (TSX:RMX). Miner. Down 4.5 cents, or 40.91 per cent, to 6.5 cents on 11.5 million shares.

Bankers Petroleum Ltd. (TSX:BNK). Oil and gas. Up 10 cents, or 5.78 per cent, to $1.83 on 9.4 million shares.

Bombardier Inc. (TSX:BBD.B). Aerospace, rail equipment. Up two cents, or 1.46 per cent, to $1.39 on 8.2 million shares.

Harte Gold Corp. (TSX:HRT). Miner. Down 4.5 cents, or 20.45 per cent, to 17.5 cents on 7.4 million shares.

MBAC Fertilizer Corp. (TSX:MBC). Fertilizer producer. Up half-a-cent, or 14.29 per cent, to four cents on 6.5 million shares.

Kinross Gold Corp. (TSX:K). Miner. Down one cent, or 0.24 per cent, to $4.12 on 5.7 million shares.

Veresen Inc. (TSX:VSN). Oil and gas. Up 62 cents, or 7.17 per cent, to $9.27 on 2.2 million shares. Veresen Inc. has breathed new life into its proposed Jordan Cove liquefied natural gas project after reaching a deal to sell about 25 per cent of its output to Japanese utilities. The Calgary-based company says it has signed a preliminary agreement to sell at least 1.5 million tonnes a year of LNG from the project to JERA, a joint venture between Tokyo Electric Power Company and Chubu Electric Power Co.

Saputo Inc. (TSX:SAP). Diary processor, consumer packaged goods. Up 42 cents, or 1.05 per cent, to $40.53 on 392,767 shares. Saputo says it will close three plants in Eastern Canada that employ some 230 workers in a move to cut costs and boost efficiency. The Montreal-based dairy processor and cheese maker said its plant in Sydney, N.S., will close in June, followed by another in Princeville, Que., in August. A third facility in Ottawa will close in December 2017.
