Open audition for Gavroche and Little Cosette set for Toronto ‘Les Miserables’

TORONTO – Open auditions for the roles of Gavroche and Little Cosette in an upcoming new Canadian production of “Les Miserables” will be held April 14 in Toronto.

Mirvish Productions, which plans to stage Cameron Mackintosh’s production of the Boublil and Schonberg show in October, says the opening singing call will be held at the Estonian House in Toronto.

Gavroche hopefuls must be seven to 11 years of age, no taller than four-foot-seven, and should be prepared to sing 16 bars of a feisty musical song, “Little People” or another song sung by the male character in the musical.

For the roles of Little Cosette/Young Eponine, girls must be seven to 11 years of age, no taller than four foot five, and should be prepared to sing 16 bars of a ballad or “Castle on a Cloud” from the show.

Registration for auditions will begin at 9:30 a.m. and end at 12:30 p.m. ET.

Mirvish says a piano accompanist will be provided and children are asked to bring their own sheet music, photo and resume.
