‘Real Housewives’ star reports to prison, faces deportation

FORT DIX, N.J. – An attorney for Joe Giudice (JOO’-dice) says the husband of “Real Housewives of New Jersey” star Teresa Giudice has reported to prison.

The couple pleaded guilty in 2014 to bankruptcy fraud, and Joe Giudice pleaded guilty to not paying about $200,000 in taxes.

The judge staggered their sentences so that one of them would be able to take care of their four young daughters.

Teresa Giudice completed her 15-month sentence in December.

Joe Giudice reported to Fort Dix’s federal prison in New Jersey on Wednesday to begin serving his 41-month term.

Family attorney James Leonard says it was an emotional day, but that the Giudicde family has a strong support system.

Joe Giudice has been living in the country illegally and will be deported to Italy after completing his sentence.
