Canada Safeway reaches tentative labour deal with 6,600 workers in B.C.

VANCOUVER – Canada Safeway says it has reached a tentative agreement with 6,600 workers in B.C. represented by the United Food and Commercial Workers.

Details of the settlement were not immediately available.

The company says the proposed deal still needs ratification by members of union local 1518.

Canada Safeway operates 224 grocery stores across Western Canada.
