KELOWNA – Colonel Chris Hadfield was the first Canadian to walk in space and come October he'll be making a special trip to the Okanagan.
As part of UBC Okanagan's Distinguished Speaker Series, Hadfield will be giving a talk at the Kelowna Community Theatre on October 7.
Retiring in May, Hadfield's last mission was commanding the ISS Expedition 35 where he shared many of his in-space experiments with audiences across the globe using social media sites like Facebook and Twitter.
Hosted by the Irving K. Barber School of Arts and Sciences, the talk will start at 7 p.m. for a limited audience. Registration is free, but is currently waitlisting guests.
Grade school students in Kelowna might also get a visit from the astronaut while in town.
