February 2016 in Kelowna already felt like spring
KELOWNA – This time last year, Kelowna residents were complaining about rain not snow and cold.
Much of the month of February 2016 was spent under grey skies and rain jackets. Temperatures were around 5 C warmer than average and most of the month felt more like spring than winter.
This week last year both Kelowna and Penticton reached 8 C this week with overnight lows between 1 C to 4 C.
It’s a different story in Kelowna this year.

Even though the sun has been shining in Kelowna most of today, Feb. 28, the temperature barely made it to 0 C. And Environment Canada predicts a chance of snow flurries and lows around -5 C overnight.
The middle of this week will be slightly warmer, wetter and should stay above freezing, but it won’t last long.
There’s another chance of snow Friday with lows of -4 C.
