WEST KELOWNA – Two bus routes that were on the chopping block in West Kelowna will continue to run, for now.
Representatives from B.C. Transit addressed West Kelowna city council Tuesday, Feb. 28, proposing changes to the current bus service.
Routes No. 27 Horizon and No. 29 Bear Creek both have low occupancy rates, at less than three passengers per trip, according to a B.C. Transit study.
However, council decided they needed more information before a decision was made to halt the services, city spokesperson Kirsten Jones says.
A public engagement session that was scheduled for mid-March has now been postponed until mid-May.
