Kelowna city councillor thanks community for support
KELOWNA – More than 200 stitches later and councillor Charlie Hodge is back is in his usual good spirits.
Hodge underwent jaw surgery on March 1 to remove a dead portion of his jawbone.
In a Facebook post, Hodge says he'll be back at council as soon as he can and thanked the community for their support.
"I am blessed to have so many supporters and friends and am just about to pour through the many emails," Hodge says in the post.
According to Hodge, half of his jawbone is now titanium and after all the stitches, he is "a tad sore."
The illness was unrelated to another condition that had him in hospital in 2015.
