B.C. Mounties charge two Dawson Creek men for sending firearm in the mail

VANCOUVER – Mounties in Dawson Creek, B.C., have arrested two men they say illegally imported a gun through the mail.

Working in partnership with Canada Border Services Agency, police began investigating the illegal import of the prohibited firearm last month.

CBSA intercepted the gun through the Canada Post system on March 24.

Police executed three search warrants and at one location found a silencer, additional firearms and ammunition.

Two unnamed men from Dawson Creek, aged 31 and 40, have ben charged with the importation of a prohibited firearm and appear in court later this month.

Police say they’re also investigating several other possible firearms charges against the pair.
