Three dogs attacked, one killed in overnight attack
KELOWNA – A brutal attack on a Kelowna family's three dogs came just days after he was assaulted by someone he knew.
Lyall Grexton awoke Tuesday morning to find his three Rottweilers were attacked overnight with a sharp weapon. All three suffered severe injuries and one of the dogs could not be saved.
Const. Kris Clark says injuries include "very deep lacerations and in one case the skull was actually crushed.”
Eight-month-old Rocky lost an ear in the attack and may be partially deaf. Grexton’s oldest dog, a 10-year-old named Sheena, sustained serious trauma to her head and lost part of her nose. Lola, a one-year-old, died from loss of blood caused by a deep laceration on her hind leg.
According to Global-Okanagan, Grexton believes whoever attacked his dogs knew them and his property and says he has since received several threatening phone calls.
Clark confirmed a man was arrested for assaulting Grexton Saturday night and will appear in court in January.
“We’re still investigating the possibility that these two incidents are connected,” he says.
So far the man faces charges unrelated to the attack on the dogs, but Clark says the investigation is still in the early stages and wouldn't rule out the possibility of other charges.

where the hell is the BC SPCA? They should be offering a reward at least considering the millions they rake in and the 6 figure salaries , many of them are making!

I still cannot get over this gruesome attack on three beautiful dogs who deserve only the best in life.Why anyone would do this disgusting harm to animals is beyond comprehension.This tragedy could only be a sign in insanity, below the standards of any human.It is a criminal act and justice needs to be served – swiftly! I feel for the owners; who obviously loved their dear pets. What goes around comes around – stay strong. RIPto poor puppy lost.

This is a tragedy that should not of happened….The abuser obviously new the dogs in order to get in the yard without continual barking from them…sure sounds to me that someone had a grudge against the owner(S) & they took it out on their dogs… some people have no morels or ethics when it comes to hurting not only people but innocent animals…just disgusting :(
