NEW YORK, N.Y. – Pittsburgh Penguins centre Sidney Crosby was named NHL first star of the month Friday after leading all players with 21 points last month.
Crosby had seven goals and 14 assists in 16 games to lead the Penguins to a 12-4-0 record in March.
Minnesota Wild goalie Devan Dubnyk was the second star and San Jose Sharks defenceman Brent Burns was the third star.
Dubnyk was 10-2-1 last month with a 2.06 goals-against average and a .927 save percentage. Burns had 19 points (6-13) in 16 games.
