WestJet to open call centre in Moncton, N.B., more than 400 jobs expected

MONCTON, N.B. – WestJet says it will open a call centre in Moncton, N.B., later this year primarily aimed at serving French-speaking travellers.

Calgary-based WestJet (TSX:WJA) says the new facility will open in September and is expected to create more than 400 jobs, two thirds of them full-time, over the next four years.

The province, through its Opportunities NB business development Crown corporation, will contribute a $1-million forgivable loan and up to $2.5 million in payroll rebates.

The company says it will begin posting for bilingual contact centre agents in Moncton in the near future.
