Sublime with Rome and The Offspring coming to Okanagan

PENTICTON – Sublime with Rome and The Offspring have announced a North American tour, including a stop in Penticton this summer.

The prolific southern California bands will play the South Okanagan Events Centre on July 8, according to a media release.

Sublime with Rome, considered iconic and genre-defining, consists of Rome Ramirez, Eric Wilson and Carlos Verdugo. Sublime with Rome will come to the events centre with a hit list that includes singles from their latest album Sirens.

The Offspring’s Dexter Holland, Noodles, Greg K and Pete Parada are considered one of rock’s most exciting and enduring bands, having performed at more than 1,100 shows around the world. The group has sold more than 40 million albums, with their 1994 release “Smash” remaining the highest selling album of all time on an independent label.

Tickets for Sublime with Rome and The Offspring go on sale Friday, March 17 at 10 a.m., and are available at the SOEC box office or charge by phone at 1-877-763-2849. Tickets can also be ordered online at www.ValletFirstTix.com. Ticket prices are $39.50, $65 and $79.50.

I have been looking for news in the South Okanagan - SImilkameen for 20 years, having turned a part time lifelong interest into a full time profession. After five years publishing a local newsletter, several years working as a correspondent / stringer for several local newspapers and seven years as editor of a Similkameen weekly newspaper, I joined iNFOnews.ca in 2014. My goal in the news industry has always been to deliver accurate and interesting articles about local people and places. As an airborne geophysical surveyor I travelled extensively around the globe, conducting helicopter borne mineral surveys.
I also spent several years at an Okanagan Falls based lumber mill, producing glued-wood laminated products.
As a member of the Kaleden community, I have been involved in the Kaleden Volunteer Fire Department for 22 years, and also serve as a trustee on the Kaleden Irrigation District board.
I am currently married to my wife Judy, of 26 years. We are empty-nesters who enjoy living in Kaleden with our Welsh Terrier, Angus, and cat, Tibbs.
Our two daughters, Meagan and Hayley, reside in Richmond and Victoria, respectively.
