Teen charged with assault on Montreal homeless man captured on video

MONTREAL – A Montreal teen has been charged in connection with two videos posted online that appear to show a homeless man being slapped and having a liquid thrown in his face.

A lawyer for the teen appeared in youth court Friday where the boy was charged with assault and criminal harassment.

Police say the alleged assaults took place Wednesday night in and around a subway station.

The teen, who has pleaded not guilty, will remain in custody pending a court appearance on Tuesday.

This is the second incident in Montreal this summer involving an alleged assault of a homeless man caught on video.

In June, police launched a criminal investigation after a video was posted online showing a homeless man having a soft drink thrown in his face.
