TORONTO – Two members of Canada’s CONCACAF Gold Cup-winning team in 2000 will be inducted into Canada’s Soccer Hall of Fame.
Paul Peschisolido and Jason DeVos will join player Janine Helland and builders Kevin Muldoon, Bill Gilhespy and Alex Hylan as part of 2013’s induction class.
DeVos played a total of 398 games and scored 32 goals in England before the defender retired with Ipswich Town at the end of the 2007-2008 season. He scored the winning goal in Canada’s 2-0 win over Colombia in the final of the 2000 Gold Cup.
Peschisolido, a striker, played 447 games in England’s football leagues, scoring 118 goals.
The induction ceremony in early June will also recognize brothers Roland, Paul Emile and Marcel Castonguay as Pioneer Award winners, the 1984 national men’s Olympic squad as the team of distinction as well as Vancouver Columbus FC as the organization of distinction.
