WEST KELOWNA – Fire crews rushed to the scene of a grass fire in the 1900 block of Abel Street just after 3:30 p.m. Friday.
When firefighters arrived, they found a rank two fire about 50' x 50' in size. A steady wind didn't stop them from dousing the fire and they were currently in the mop up stage quickly.
Two fire engines, one tender, a fire inspector, an incident command vehicle responded with a compliment of 10 firefighters.
West Kelowna Fire Rescue is reminding residents conditions are still dry in forests, even with recent rain and cooler nights, so precautions are necessary to prevent fires.
