NEW YORK, N.Y. – On the heels of “The Force Awakens,” the original “Star Wars” trilogy is coming back to theatres this summer.
The Alamo Drafthouse announced Tuesday that it will roll out a “Star Wars” road show beginning Aug. 6 in select cities. The three films — “A New Hope,” ”The Empire Strikes Back” and “Return of the Jedi” — will typical play in back-to-back-to-back screenings.
The films will play in about 20 cities through August, the independent theatre chain said.
J.J. Abrams’ “The Force Awakens” is still playing in several hundred theatres. It has made more than $935 million in North America.
