TORONTO – Toronto Blue Jays executive Stephen R. Brooks has resigned, a team spokesman confirmed Tuesday.
Brooks held the position of senior vice-president of business operations for the last five years. He had been with the club since 2009.
There was no immediate word on why he stepped down.
Brooks oversaw the Blue Jays’ ticket sales, marketing, financial and stadium operations, andcorporate partnerships.
His departure comes six months after the arrival of new team president Mark Shapiro and general manager Ross Atkins.
The Blue Jays kicked off their 2016 regular season earlier this month. They took a 3-4 record into Tuesday night’s home game against the New York Yankees.
Brooks also serves on the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame’s board of directors.
